Veel schaatsgeld voor KiKa
LISSE – De schaatsers Ronald Walkier en Gerrit Wildenbeest hebben met hun KiKa-schaatsactie (Stichting Kinderen Kankervrij) meer dan 13.000 euro bijeengeschaatst. KiKa-ambassadrices Claire van ’t Veen en Karen Klein namen donderdag 25 maart de cheque in ontvangst.
Samen met andere schaatsfanaten reden Walkier, vertegenwoordiger bij de Coöperatieve Nederlandse Bloembollen Centrale (CNB) en Wildenbeest, redacteur van het vakblad BloembollenVisie, eind januari de Alternatieve Elfstedentocht op de Oostenrijkse Weissensee. Veel sponsoren ondersteunden deze actie en dat resulteerde in een eindbedrag van 13.289,50 euro. De ambassadrices lieten weten: ‘We kunnen het bedrag goed gebruiken. Er is veel geld nodig voor onderzoek dat plaatsvindt in de zeven Nederlandse kinderkankercentra. Dit zijn bijvoorbeeld onderzoeken naar versnelde therapieën voor een betere behandeling en genezing van kinderkanker. Dit zorgt voor minder pijn en strijd en dus meer genezing en kwaliteit van leven’.
